Radiofrequency Facial Rejuvenation
Out of all the anti-ageing, non-surgical techniques that use heat to activate the subcutaneous fibroblasts (cells that produce collagen and elastin), radiofrequency facial rejuvenation is currently the most advanced system with regard to timescale and costs.
The anti-aging effects of radiofrequency are not immediate, but are gradual and become more noticeable as the days and weeks go by, reaching their maximum effect even as long as 4 months after the treatment. Significant results are achieved in the areas of the cheeks, forehead and neck.
The immediate and long term effects:
- Higher capacity of oxygen and nourishment for the cells
- Activates cellular metabolism.
- Filler effect of the wrinkles
- Lifting effect by contraction of the existing collagen fibres
- Stimulation of the fibroblasts to create new collagen and elastin
- Improved arterial circulation and stimulation of the lymphatic system.
- Brighter smoother texture to the skin
- Firmer skin
In general, skin treated will be immediately brighter and more compact, with an improvement in texture and the areas with a lack of tone will be visibly firmer. Further tightening improvements will appear gradually over the months after treatment.
Radiofrequency facial rejuvenation achieves the following results and more:
- Tightens forehead skin
- Tightens and lifts skin around the eye area
- Lifts cheeks slightly
- Reduce enlarged pores
- Diminishes jowling and sagging along the jaw line
- Tightens skin and diminishes wrinkling around the neck
What to expect
The treatment area will be lightly cleansed, exfoliated and a moisturising cream or serum will be applied. A thick layer of treatment emulsion will then be spread over the skin.
The treatment head of the machine will be placed on your skin and moved in small circles, until you start to feel the warmth. You will be asked for continual feedback on the sensation and heat level produced – the aim is to increase the intensity to the highest level possible, without causing discomfort. The heat sensation is similar to placing a hot face cloth on the skin.
An average face or neck treatment takes approximately 15 minutes, face and neck combined takes 30 minutes, although 45 – 60 minutes must be allowed for each session to give time for the preparation and post-treatment applications.
After the treatment, the skin will be cleansed to remove the emulsion and a moisturiser will be applied. Sunscreen is strongly recommended, although I do not usually provide this due to the percentage of people with individual sensitivity issues, so please bring some with you if possible, or use a foundation with SPF included.
The treated area will feel warm and may appear flushed or slightly reddened for up to a few hours after each treatment, but it is fine to apply makeup immediately, so please bring some with you if you wish to do so. (If possible, please attend your session with no make-up on the area you would like treated, as this allows more time to be spent on the actual radiofrequency part of the treatment!).Contact us now
